It’s just insane! It doesn’t matter if your hen group is full of wild and crazy girls or whether they are a little more laid-back, Edinburgh is the type of city that will ensure you have a fantastic time!

This is a city that doesn’t mess around when it comes to entertaining tourists and hen groups. Check out these six amazing activities for you to try on your Edinburgh hen weekend!
I am a huge fan of quad biking as I believe that, more than any other activity, it’s perfect for all types of people. Pretty much anyone can try quad biking. It only takes a few minutes for the instructor to tell you what to do and then you’re up and running on your quad bike trek. Your skill level and quad biking experience will decide what type of trek you go on. You can go on a nice, easy trek or you can tackle a tougher course with some pretty rough terrain. Either way, you’ll feel amazing with this powerful beast between your legs ... yeah, I know how bad that sounds!
Next up is a place that is just tailor-made for a wild hen weekend! The Electric Circus Karaoke Party! is an awesome way of having fun in the afternoon and it’s a great way of getting your group all riled up (and a bit tipsy as well I might add) before your hen night. They have loads of different songs for you to sing and it doesn’t matter if you have a great voice or if you sound like a horror act from The Voice. This is an activity where it is just impossible not to have a smile on your face the whole time. I know some of you may be a bit shy, but after a few cocktails you’ll soon be belting them out!
I’ve heard on the grapevine that paintballing is not for everyone because as much fun as it is, it does sting when you get shot and, if you are terrible at shooting, you can run out of ammo pretty quickly. Well, laser tag has none of these problems but it’s every bit as much fun. The idea is the same; two teams want to destroy each other! These laser guns are really cool and pretty accurate as well. Best of all, it doesn’t hurt when you get shot and you will never run out of ammo. I’ve yet to hear from a hen party that didn’t have a brilliant time here.
I have been to a few aerial assault courses but, honestly, this is one of the best. The staff here all love to have fun and they understand that some people don’t like being up so high. But don’t worry, it’s all perfectly safe and the staff and your fellow hens will help you out. This is a rather easy (with the odd challenging part) aerial assault course, but it’s still a lot of fun. You don’t need to be some sort of fitness maniac to do this. Just keep calm, watch what you’re doing and you’ll breeze through it and then feel amazing once you’ve finished. For something a little edgy with a hint of danger, this is perfect.
If there’s one thing us ladies never lose (no matter what our age), it’s our love of chocolate! With this in mind, here’s the perfect way to spend some time with your best friends and eat an unholy amount of the sweet stuff! At the chocolate making workshop, you will be taught how to make some very tasty and pretty swanky chocolates. Even more amazing is the fact that, at the end of the day, you can leave with a lovely box of chocolates that you’ve made yourself. And don’t forget, you’ve probably been shoving a load of chocolate into your mouth as you were ‘working’ – what a treat! This is just an absolute blast and in many ways it feels as if you’re back in school in a home economics class!
Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved to dance. Even now in my 20s (give or take a few years … mainly give L), I still enjoy a good boogie. Well, in this activity you’ll be taught some amazing dance routines and at the end of the session, you’ll perform a big dance number. Dirty Dancing is the theme here and it was just so much fun to be able to learn and enact (well kind of) the dances I had seen a million times on TV. Whether you dance like Lady Gaga or you have two left feet and dance like a maniac (wait, isn’t that the same thing?), you’ll have a great time here.
A Few More Fun-Filled Edinburgh Hen Day Ideas
I’m not done with you ladies just yet! Here are some more fun hen day activities you can enjoy in Edinburgh!
Now, this is my kind of hen day activity! Anything that mixes having fun with my friends and drinking a few cocktails is always something I’m up for. This is an activity that will be an easy sell to all your friends. This cocktail making class is a really good way to spend a couple of hours. A bartender will teach you about how all your favourite cocktails are made and you can even come up with some new cocktails of your own. If your hen group is anything like mine, then there’ll be a few legless ladies at the end of this session!
Remember, it’s okay to take a breather during a hen weekend and do something that is relaxing and that’s why I have included this amazing spa day. There are a wide variety of different beauty and relaxation treatments for you to choose from. You can even put together your own little list and have your ultimate afternoon being pampered and waited on like some kind of princess. There’s no better way in Edinburgh to relax before your big (and I’m sure wild) hen night!
I like to think that in another dimension my singing talent has been realised and I’m a multi-platinum superstar! Well, thanks to the awesome guys at Studio Superstar! I actually have my own CD (albeit only seven other people on the planet have it as well). You see, at Studio Superstar, you can record your own fabulous single with your friends. There’s lot of songs to choose from and they will really give you a glimpse of what it’s like to be a real pop star. Even if you’re not hugely into singing, this is enormous fun and it’s also so cool that you all receive an actual CD at the end of the session so you have a memento of your hen weekend.
Finally, when I first heard about this next activity I said, “No way am I doing that” but now when I travel to a new location to see what they have to offer, white water rafting is one of the first outdoor activities I look for. This will really push you and make you work as a team. Led by a guide, you will make your way down some really fun rapids as if you are on some kind of theme park ride. This is the type of activity that will give you a huge boost of confidence and it’s something to tell your grandchildren about! Just one tip, if you think you need to throw up, make sure you lean over the side of the raft!
