Here are the most popular hen day activities in
So what exactly makes Leeds such a great place? Well, read on and I’ll tell you the six most popular hen day ideas in Leeds.
Let’s get this whole thing started in the right way with some daytime drinking! Drinking at 10am on a hen day is fine – trust me! And, you’re in luck because Leeds has a great way for you to spend a fun couple of hours – a cocktail making class. Set in the awesome Revolution Bar (one of Leeds’ best clubs/bars), you’ll be mixing, stirring and of course drinking wonderful cocktails! You’ll have a brilliant time here and your bartender will certainly have a few stories to share with you girls! Perhaps you’ll discover the next best cocktail, but even if you don’t, it’s great fun trying!
A Leeds hen do can be a wild and crazy experience (I know better than most!) but that doesn’t mean that you can’t spend a few hours relaxing and being pampered at this awesome This is a really cool place and you’ll be offered a brilliant mix of soothing treatments and ones that will make you look amazing on your hen night. The friendly staff will make sure that you are all taken care of and are very content! If you want to spend some really nice, relaxing and quality time with your friends, then this is the activity for you.
As far as outdoor pursuits go, quad biking is fast becoming one of the most popular hen do activities in the UK. This is a great place for a group who have never been quad biking before, but at the same time its good for experienced riders too. After just a short lesson, you’ll be off on a fun quad bike trek through the woods. They have three different courses here and which one you go on depends on your skill level. Bring a change of clothes as you dirty girls will get even dirtier!
If you ladies are looking for a little action (no, not that kind of action!), then one of the most popular places in Leeds for groups is the Xscape Centre. This place is a riot and the main attraction is the amazing Skyride! Wondering what this is? Well, it’s pretty much an obstacle course and it’s great fun. It’s set really high up … so high that your head is just a few inches away from the flippin’ roof!
Now here’s something that’s becoming just as big a hit with the girls as it is with the guys. I’m talking about rolling around in the mud, getting all hyped up and shooting at your friends – paintballing! A game of paintballing here is more than just shooting at each other (although that’s actually a huge part of it), they have all these cool game scenarios and you can play out a story. Trust me when I tell you that you’ll really get into this story and feel like you’re in some sort of action film. You’ll be dirty, bruised and tired as hell, but you’ll have had a fabulous time!
Here’s a fun activity that lets you wrap your hands around something and make it bang! Have you guessed what it is? Of course, it’s clay pigeon shooting! This is one of those things that I had to be talked into trying but I’m glad I did it. It’s loads of fun and the first time you fire a successful shot, you really feel like some kind of superwoman! Once you’ve been given a safety briefing and a quick lesson, it’s time to see just who can shoot the most clays.
Even More Fun In Leeds!
Hey, I’m not done yet. We had an awesome time during our stay in Leeds so here’s even more hen day ideas!
First up, here’s something you can do no matter what the annoying British weather does! Indoor go karting is heaps of fun! They really love hen groups here and they’ll make sure that even non-drivers can use the karts! You can even have your own little F1-style race. The track is not too tricky so you’ll be driving around it at great speeds! This was a fantastic laugh and it’s perfect if you’re having your Leeds hen do in the winter as it’s all indoors.
This next activity is a little bit of a drive from Leeds but it’s well worth the journey. This is a fun assault course. However, this is no normal assault course; it’s the Krypton Factor Assault Course! This involves more than just climbing over some walls and jumping through tyres. You see, the Krypton Factor assault course (the one used on the TV show) is just as much about your mental strength as it is your physical fitness. There are just as many mental puzzles as there are physical challenges.
Next is a really challenging Leeds hen day activity! Canyoning is one of the best things a group of girls can do to make their hen weekend really memorable. This is just such an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime activity. You’ll be in the middle of nowhere and need to get from one point to another but to do so you have to climb, swim, jump and explore creepy and awe-inspiring terrains. This is one of the most unbelievable adventures. It may be hard, tiring and sweaty work but I can’t recommend this highly enough!
I’m sure that, like me, you’ve gorged on more than your fair share of chocolate. Well, now you can take your love for all things chocolate a step further by enjoying a chocolate making workshop with your friends. The order of the day is these amazing chocolate truffles – well, my friend Susie’s were amazing, mine were, well … edible, let’s just leave it at that! You’ll have a great laugh actually learning how to make chocolates and I’m sure you’ll be stuffing your face (like I was) the whole time. This is just a good fun activity that is perfect for a hen weekend.
Some Need-To-Know Info About Leeds
Here, I have my very own mini-guide that will ensure that your hen day in Leeds will run even more smoothly!
Get Your Day Started With A Good Breakfast
The best place I found in Leeds for a good breakfast was Appetite. This is a family-run deli that has an amazing selection of food. There’s a really nice full English breakfast on the menu but also lighter snacks such as bagels and omelettes.
Where To Go For Lunch
I’ll admit straightaway that the reason we went to Sambuca was because of the name! However, this is actually a really nice Italian restaurant that has a great menu including something for even the fussiest of girls! From pasta to a wide range of pizzas, this is just a really cool and laidback place to have a nice (and very reasonably priced) lunch.
Taxi Firms In Leeds
Getting a taxi in Leeds could not be any easier and you don’t even need to show a bit of leg to get the drivers to pull over! There are loads of taxi firms here so getting a lift to where you want to go is no bother at all. Royal Cars and Speed Line are just two of the taxi firms in Leeds.
Bad Time To Come To Leeds
Leeds is such a cool place that there’s never really a bad time to come here. It’s popular and busy but never so crowded that it becomes a hassle or less enjoyable. The winter months can be very wet which can result in some of the outdoor activities not being open. But, for the most part, I would say you can book your hen weekend for any time of the year!
Are There Any Good Festivals In Leeds?
I could write ten articles about having a hen weekend in Leeds (or even places close to Leeds) and every single time I would recommend the awesome Leeds Festival. This is one of the major festivals on the UK festival scene and some of the biggest bands and artists perform here every August.
When You Break A Nail (Pharmacies In Leeds)
If you do find that you need a pharmacy in Leeds for whatever reason (hey, I’ll not ask any questions!) then there are several Boots stores. Also, all the major supermarket chains can be found in Leeds and they generally have pharmacies.
